Acknowledgement of Country

Indigenous Psychedelic-Assisted Therapies (IPAT) acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the unceded land on which we work, learn and live. We pay respect to Elders past, present and future, and acknowledge the importance of Indigenous ways of knowing, being and doing in all areas, including the emerging field of Psychedelics. With reverence and respect for Indigenous traditions of healing with plant kin and communing with nature, we are committed to supporting Indigenous representation in the Psychedelic space.

About

We aim to support accessibility of plant medicines and their therapeutic use for Indigenous peoples.

Our Vision is to develop a culturally safe model of psychedelic-assisted therapy (PAT) for Indigenous peoples to access, which acknowledges the Indigenous wisdom that has underpinned the use of plant medicines for thousands of years, and acknowledges Indigenous peoples globally as the knowledge keepers in their use.

Our Purpose is to develop a model of psychedelic-assisted therapy that incorporates Indigenous ways of knowing, being and doing, and acknowledges that we heal together in community. A model that has cultural safety at the forefront in order to be accessible for Indigenous peoples, and also accessible and of benefit for all people.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to Psychae Institute for their invaluable support and contribution to the development of the IPAT model.
